Josh Clark, a.k.a. Stovetop_Fb, has taken his lifelong love of skateboarding to the next level through fingerboarding.
Meet Josh Clark, known in the fingerboarding world as Stovetop_Fb. Hailing from the small border town of Massena, New York, Josh has become a prominent figure in the fingerboarding community, sharing his passion from his homestead where he lives with his partner, Cass (also known as Soulskate_Fb), their daughter, and an assortment of animals. For nearly five years, Josh has been deeply dedicated to fingerboarding, a passion ignited in his childhood after watching the classic Fingers of Fury video. Even in a town with little skate culture, he channeled his love for skateboarding into countless hours with his Tech Deck.
Today, Josh rides with some of the most respected brands in the scene. His current sponsors include Loosenut Fingerboards, Pipsqueak Wheels, Father’s Skate Supply, and Fidgitdigit403. Over the years, he’s also collaborated with other brands and had pro models, including the iconic “Car Bomb” ledge by Boozy Ramps and an upcoming graphic with Loosenut Fingerboards. Loosenut, which Josh joined two years ago, has become like family, with each deck crafted as a collaboration between the owner and the team.
Josh’s journey took a pivotal turn in early 2020, when he rediscovered fingerboarding during a difficult period. After his mother passed away, he found his old box of Tech Decks while clearing out his childhood home, rekindling a connection to the joy fingerboarding had always brought him. “It was like my mom saw me at my lowest and gave me back something that once brought me so much happiness,” he reflects. This discovery not only helped him cope but led him deeper into the fingerboarding community, which he now credits with bringing incredible friendships and creative opportunities into his life.
Josh has a full lineup of projects on the horizon, including a local fingerboarding event in New York and new collaborations with Pipsqueak Wheels and Father’s Skate Supply. For a peek into his world, follow him on Instagram and TikTok (@Stovetop_Fb) and his YouTube channel, Stovetop’s Kitchen. Josh credits much of his success to friends like Chris at Loosenut Fingerboards, Matt at Pipsqueak, and Brandon at Fidgitdigit403, whose support has been crucial to his journey.
The fingerboarding community has become a second family for Josh, and his story is a testament to the power of rediscovered passions and the support of those who share them.
