Advertising...

The down and dirty part of  Plies

  • “I run Instagram posts and sell out all my stuff.” <-- NOPE

“I can’t sustain this if I don’t level up my sales strategy.” <-- YEP

Advertising might not be everyone’s style in the fingerboarding community, and that’s okay. But PLIES is here to change the game. It’s the next big step, pushing fingerboarding into the mainstream spotlight where it truly belongs.”

  • The answer is Advertising, right? Yes… and no. While fingerboarding is part of a $3 billion industry, it’s still a niche market. Like with any advertising, the key is ensuring a solid ROI (Return on Investment). At PLIES, we’re not just here to take your money—we want to help you make it back and then some. Our ads are low-cost, and we'll only put 6-12 ads in each issue to help offset the printing cost. But we are ultimately here to be an information source that looks cool and offers something unique to the community.

Sure, it’s cool to be featured in our magazine, but if you advertise, our priority is growing your business, not draining your hard-earned cash. To maximize your results, consider adding tools like coupon codes, QR codes, or custom links to track how your ads are performing. These simple measures can give you valuable insights into your customer reach.

Remember the golden rule of marketing: If you don’t ask where your customers found you, it’s on you—not them. Metrics like clicks and views are a good start, but don’t stop there. Ask your customers at checkout or over the phone, “Where did you hear about us?” Every piece of information helps refine your strategy for success.

  • We’re taking it OLD SCHOOL...kinda

This publication has a few goals.  #1 Create a place to celebrate what is going on and the people making things happen in fingerboarding.  #2 PRINT this @#$%!  We WILL have about 10K in digital downloads of this magazine, BUT we’re not just make a digital thing that disappears as soon as you’re done DOOM scrolling.  Collect, save and share copies of a MAGAZINE MADE FOR US!  Consumer subscriptions will be shipped directly USA domestic through our site.

#3 As we grow we’ll also be stocking Fingerboarding & Skate Shops as well as retail and other locations across the USA!

Consider this before advertising...

  • Do I want more orders or attention?

We get it—running a fingerboarding business can be overwhelming, especially when you’re already struggling to keep up with orders. So, let us assure you: this is a valid concern.

We’d never take your hard-earned money without ensuring you see a solid return on your advertising investment. Buying ads for the first time can be exciting, but we’re here to collaborate with you, helping you spend smart and make every dollar count.

  • Is my business ready to be PUBLIC ?

In today’s world, putting yourself out there comes with its own set of challenges—including potential security concerns. Beyond social media fame, it’s essential to handle the groundwork: set your business up legally and protect yourself.

Advertising has the power to transform a hobby into a legitimate business—along with all the responsibilities, like taxes and increased attention, that come with it. Make sure you’re ready for the next step!

  • Creating ads and marketing materials for print can be trickier than crafting an Instagram post (no offense to digital pros). Print specs often demand more precision and attention to detail.

That’s where we come in. With over 30 years of experience and three AD~Q awards for excellence in print advertising, our team knows the ins and outs of the process. We even offer FREE design services for advertisers who commit to multiple issues. And whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting, we’re always here to help.
